Prison population (total)

In 2014, Latvia's prison population (total) decreased by 7.6% compared to 2013, reaching 4,745.

Latvia ranks 17th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 32.7% (from 7,055 in 2009).
