How EU sanctions work
EU sanctions are restrictive measures adopted by the Council of the European Union under the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), Articles 29 TEU and 215 TFEU. They typically combine an asset freeze, a prohibition on making funds or economic resources available, and a travel ban (for natural persons).
Listings are published in the Official Journal of the European Union and consolidated in the Financial Sanctions Database (FSD) maintained by the European External Action Service. Delisting is requested in writing; refusal can be challenged before the Court of Justice of the EU.
This page mirrors the FSD verbatim and re-aggregates it for readability. We do not curate the list. For the authoritative version always consult the FSD and the regulation cited on each row.
