In 2020, Lithuania's prison population (adults) decreased by 13.1% compared to 2019, reaching 5,298.

Lithuania ranks 16th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 27.1% (from 7,270 in 2015).
