In 2020, Lithuania's prison population (total) decreased by 13.3% compared to 2019, reaching 5,320.

Lithuania ranks 17th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 27.7% (from 7,355 in 2015).
