In 2006, Luxembourg's acquisitions of EU citizenship increased by 18.2% compared to 2005, reaching 1,128.

Luxembourg ranks 21st out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 127.4% (from 496 in 2001).
