Registration in the Joint Transparency Register is a precondition for a long list of access privileges to the EU institutions: meetings with Commissioners and senior staff, Parliament building entry passes, appointments as Commission expert-group members, public hearings. Each entry is self-declared by the organisation. The register is operated jointly by the Council of the EU, the European Commission and the European Parliament, and exposes a daily XML bulk export that this section mirrors verbatim.
