Roberts Zīle

Member of the European Parliament for Latvia, sitting with the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) political group in the current parliamentary term (2024–2029).

The European Parliament has 720 directly-elected members representing the citizens of the EU's 27 member states. MEPs sit by political group rather than nationality, debate and amend Commission proposals under the ordinary legislative procedure, vote on the EU's annual budget and the Multiannual Financial Framework, scrutinise the Commission's work through committees, and consent to international agreements.
