In 2016, Austria's police-recorded offences by offence category increased by 16.7% compared to 2015, reaching 49.

Austria ranks 20th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 38.8% (from 80 in 2011).
