In 2007, Cyprus's population (total, 1 january) increased by 1.6% compared to 2006, reaching 778,700.

Cyprus ranks 22nd out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 10.4% (from 705,500 in 2002).
