In 1990, Greece's passenger cars, by type of motor energy and size of engine increased by 8.2% compared to 1989, reaching 1,736,000.

Greece ranks 14th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 37.5% (from 1,263,000 in 1985).
