In 2005, Greece's passenger cars, by type of motor energy and size of engine increased by 5.6% compared to 2004, reaching 4,303,129.

Greece ranks 7th out of 25 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 34.7% (from 3,195,000 in 2000).
