In 2016, Lithuania's passenger cars, by type of motor energy and size of engine increased by 4.4% compared to 2015, reaching 1,298,737.

Lithuania ranks 21st out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 24.2% (from 1,713,277 in 2011).
