Environmental tax revenues as share of total taxes

In 2021, Romania's environmental tax revenues as share of total taxes increased by 27.2% compared to 2020, reaching 2.4%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 2.4%.

Romania ranks 14th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 0.4% (from 2.4% in 2016).
