In 2018, Slovakia's fresh water abstraction by source per capita increased by 1.2% compared to 2017, reaching 62.2.

Slovakia ranks 14th out of 22 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 2.3% (from 60.8 in 2013).
