Environmental tax revenues as share of total taxes

In 2024, Spain's environmental tax revenues as share of total taxes increased by 4.5% compared to 2023, reaching 1.6%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 2.1%.

Spain ranks 22nd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 8.5% (from 1.8% in 2019).
