In 2007, Sweden's passenger cars, by type of motor energy and size of engine increased by 1.3% compared to 2006, reaching 4,258,000.

Sweden ranks 10th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 5.3% (from 4,043,000 in 2002).
