In 2008, Austria's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 34.0% compared to 2007, reaching 14.2%.

Austria ranks 13th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 13.6% (from 12.5% in 2003).
