Housing cost overburden rate by poverty status - EU-SILC survey

In 2025, Austria's housing cost overburden rate by poverty status increased by 3.2% compared to 2024, reaching 6.5%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 7.7%.

Austria ranks 11th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 3.2% (from 6.3% in 2020).
