In 2021, Austria's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 16.6% compared to 2020, reaching 40,385.

Austria ranks 7th out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 49.8% (from 80,503 in 2016).
