In 2013, Belgium's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 5.8% compared to 2012, reaching 224,109.

Belgium ranks 7th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 8.8% (from 245,682 in 2008).
