In 2013, Germany's police-recorded offences by offence category increased by 1.7% compared to 2012, reaching 1,289,071.

Germany ranks 3rd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 37.2% (from 2,052,913 in 2008).
