In 2016, Belgium's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 5.8% compared to 2015, reaching 232,504.

Belgium ranks 6th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 4.1% (from 242,399 in 2011).
