In 2016, Germany's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 4.3% compared to 2015, reaching 1,290,481.

Germany ranks 2nd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 1.1% (from 1,276,065 in 2011).
