General government expenditure by function (COFOG)

In 2008, Bulgaria's general government expenditure by function (COFOG) increased by 8.3% compared to 2007, reaching 3.9%.

Bulgaria ranks 25th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 7.1% (from 4.2% in 2003).
