In 1995, Bulgaria's passenger cars, by type of motor energy and size of engine increased by 3.8% compared to 1994, reaching 1,648,000.

Bulgaria ranks 17th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 25.1% (from 1,317,000 in 1990).
