In 2007, Bulgaria's passenger cars, by type of motor energy and size of engine increased by 17.8% compared to 2006, reaching 2,082,000.

Bulgaria ranks 15th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 4.2% (from 2,174,100 in 2002).
