Bulgaria accounts for 143.9% of the EU-27 total of 8.20.

Bulgaria ranks 2nd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 32.6% (from 8.90 in 2019).
