In 2004, Croatia's passenger cars, by type of motor energy and size of engine increased by 3.7% compared to 2003, reaching 1,329,000.

Croatia ranks 18th out of 25 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 25.5% (from 1,059,000 in 1999).
