In 2005, Croatia's passenger cars, by type of motor energy and size of engine increased by 3.4% compared to 2004, reaching 1,374,000.

Croatia ranks 18th out of 25 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 22.8% (from 1,119,000 in 2000).
