In 2009, Croatia's passenger cars, by type of motor energy and size of engine decreased by 0.6% compared to 2008, reaching 1,541,000.

Croatia ranks 20th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 16.0% (from 1,329,000 in 2004).
