In 2008, Croatia's passenger cars, by type of motor energy and size of engine increased by 2.7% compared to 2007, reaching 1,551,000.

Croatia ranks 18th out of 25 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 21.0% (from 1,282,000 in 2003).
