In 2005, Cyprus's passenger cars, by type of motor energy and size of engine increased by 5.7% compared to 2004, reaching 355,000.

Cyprus ranks 23rd out of 25 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 32.5% (from 268,000 in 2000).
