In 2021, Cyprus's median of the housing cost burden distribution by degree of urbanisation increased by 2.6% compared to 2020, reaching 7.80.

Cyprus accounts for 51.7% of the EU-27 total of 15.1.

Cyprus ranks 24th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 12.4% (from 8.90 in 2016).
