In 2000, Cyprus's nights spent at tourist accommodation establishments increased by 4.1% compared to 1999, reaching 17,419,055.

Cyprus ranks 18th out of 25 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 19.6% (from 14,566,495 in 1995).
