In 2008, Denmark's passenger cars, by type of motor energy and size of engine increased by 1.5% compared to 2007, reaching 2,099,090.

Denmark ranks 15th out of 25 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 10.8% (from 1,894,649 in 2003).
