In 2009, Denmark's passenger cars, by type of motor energy and size of engine increased by 1.0% compared to 2008, reaching 2,120,322.

Denmark ranks 16th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 10.7% (from 1,915,821 in 2004).
