In 2004, Estonia's passenger cars, by type of motor energy and size of engine increased by 8.5% compared to 2003, reaching 471,000.

Estonia ranks 23rd out of 25 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 2.7% (from 458,700 in 1999).
