In 2021, Estonia's housing cost overburden rate by income quintile increased by 11.0% compared to 2020, reaching 19.2.

Estonia accounts for 61.9% of the EU-27 total of 31.0.

Estonia ranks 18th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 6.8% (from 20.6 in 2016).
