In 2007, Finland's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 27.5% compared to 2006, reaching 5.1%.

Finland ranks 2nd out of 10 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 24.4% (from 4.1% in 2002).
