In 2016, France's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 3.4% compared to 2015, reaching 366,480.

France ranks 2nd out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 6.1% (from 345,500 in 2011).
