In 2000, Germany's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 8.3% compared to 1999, reaching 11.0%.

Germany ranks 21st out of 21 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 31.3% (from 16.0% in 1995).
