Employment rates by citizenship

In 2021, Germany's employment rates by citizenship increased by 0.6% compared to 2020, reaching 72.3%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 63.4%.

Germany ranks 5th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 2.1% (from 70.8% in 2016).
