Environmental tax revenues as share of total taxes

In 2024, Ireland's environmental tax revenues as share of total taxes increased by 4.3% compared to 2023, reaching 1.0%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 2.1%.

Ireland ranks 27th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 29.5% (from 1.4% in 2019).
