In 2025, Ireland's relative median poverty risk gap of elderly people increased by 7.9% compared to 2024, reaching 12.3.

Ireland accounts for 67.6% of the EU-27 total of 18.2.

Ireland ranks 21st out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 13.9% (from 10.8 in 2020).
