In 2020, Ireland's share of total population considering their dwelling as too dark decreased by 11.7% compared to 2019, reaching 5.30.

Ireland accounts for 81.5% of the EU-27 total of 6.50.

Ireland ranks 13th out of 25 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 3.9% (from 5.10 in 2015).
