At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2023, Italy's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 6.0% compared to 2022, reaching 18.9%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 16.2%.

Italy ranks 8th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 6.9% (from 20.3% in 2018).
