In 2021, Italy's at-risk-of-poverty threshold decreased by 2.6% compared to 2020, reaching 20,766.

Italy ranks 14th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 6.6% (from 19,484 in 2016).
