In 2021, Latvia's children (aged less than 18) living in households with very low work intensity by sex decreased by 14.3% compared to 2020, reaching 18.0.

Latvia ranks 19th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 4.8% (from 18.9 in 2016).
