In 2021, Latvia's housing cost overburden rate by income quintile increased by 6.0% compared to 2020, reaching 19.5.

Latvia accounts for 62.9% of the EU-27 total of 31.0.

Latvia ranks 17th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 28.0% (from 27.1 in 2016).
