In 2004, Lithuania's passenger cars, by type of motor energy and size of engine increased by 4.7% compared to 2003, reaching 1,315,914.

Lithuania ranks 19th out of 25 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 20.8% (from 1,089,334 in 1999).
